Thank you for that insightful reminder, David, it wasn't at all provocative.... and I'm sure it won't prompt 100 more snippy, annoying, pointless emails from this job poster. Please let this issue die. There is no need to personally attack other recruiters, it doesn't make yourself look any better and it just annoys all of us, because no one really cares.

Job Function
Lotame is looking for software engineers to build the next generation of internet marketing technology specifically geared towards social networking websites like MySpace and Facebook. If you like to be intimately involved in the design and development of a companys core technology, want to own projects and make a real difference in a small company, then Lotame wants you. If you like serious technical challenges, such as building systems that process extremely high volumes of transactions and generate terabytes of data a week, then you want Lotame.
Candidates for this position must be knowledgeable in major Internet technologies and relational databases; comfortable working with and/or learning multiple programming languages; comfortable in a fast paced startup environment; and able to demonstrate experience building and knowledge of large scale, high volume systems.
The Day to Day
·
Work as part of a small team in an agile environment to design and implement various projects
·
Mentor junior team members in relevant aspects of software and system engineering
·
Research and prototype methods of data capture from partner web pages
·
Develop innovative methods for analyzing, utilizing, and presenting collected data
·
Utilize sound engineering practices to deliver functional, stable, and scalable technology
·
Design application interfaces, user interfaces, and data models to support system development
·
Interface with front line client customer support to understand real world feedback and integrate appropriate improvements into existing systems
Qualifications
·
Knowledge of or interest in distributed systems, such as memcached and Hadoop
·
BS in a technical field or significant relevant experience
·
5+ years experience building internet based applications
·
Hands on experience with a major relational database (MySQL is a plus)
·
Experience in Java
·
The ability to write high performance code
·
The ability to rapidly learn new technologies
·
Self-motivated with strong problem solving and analytic skills
·
Ability to handle multiple tasks
·
Working knowledge of Linux as a deployment environment
·
Knowledge of and experience with major internet technologies, such as JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, HTML, and HTTP
·
Comfortable in various operating systems

5-9yrs of Java/ PHP/ .NET experience

Someone who is familiar with object-orient design
·
Someone who has done more of an Architect role and can foresee problems and how to resolve them.
