Position Summary:
Develop, build and improve technical systems and applications, to ensure
efficiency, reliability and optimal performance of UJA-Federation of New
York's website. The ideal candidate is not only technically proficient
but is also passionate about evolving the organization's web
capabilities.

Major Responsibilities:
* Develop extensions/applications to the content management system (CMS)
SilverStripe and manage key functionality to meet stakeholders' needs
* Plan, analyze, design, implement and test systems and new
functionality
* Assist with the implementation of a digital asset management system
DMS and integration with the website CMS 
* Ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting of the CMS and DAM systems 
* Administering site for content development for non-programmers to
enable them to easily update content 
* Work with the Director to assure site is updated to current business
needs
* Other departmental web projects as necessary

Essential Technical Skills:
* Two or more years experience with PHP5 object-oriented programming
* Five or more years experience with general object-oriented programming
(PHP4, Java, .NET, Ruby, Python, and so forth
* Two or more years experience with model-view-controller (MVC)
development using SilverStripe Sapphire, Zend Framework, Symfony and so
forth
* Five or more years experience with database design, including advanced
knowledge of MySQL versions 4 and 5
* Proficient with XHTML/CSS template creation (standards compliant)
* Experienced with JavaScript libraries such as jQuery and Prototype
* Complete project life-cycle experience
* Report and documentation writing and research experience

Desirable Skills/Aptitudes:
* Familiarity with various open source programming languages and
mobile-phone development
* Experience working with content management systems
* Enthusiasm for the web as a medium and interest in emerging
technologies and trends in social media
* Strong organizational and communication skills, plus the ability to
manage multiple projects and prioritize competing tasks
* Ability to multitask a large number of projects simultaneously and
excellent problem solving skills
* Dynamic, results-orientated self-starter 
* Team player who can work with internal partners
* Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and sense of humor in a
high pressured environment
* Excellent Interpersonal skills

Education/Experience:
* BS in computer science or related field preferred
* Minimum 5+ years experience in related field
