CBS is looking for a strong PHP application developer to work on the development of new features and products related to the CBS Local Digital Media websites, leveraging the combined assets and digital operations of CBS’s 29 television stations and CBS RADIO’s 36 news, sports and talk stations.

Candidates must have experience in developing web applications using WordPress, PHP and MySQL.  Additional skills in HTML, AJAX, JavaScript and CSS are also desired.  Knowledge of OO design principles, unit testing and automated testing would be a plus.

Responsibilities
•     Analyze, design and develop database-driven applications using PHP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS and MySQL.
•     Work with the development team and product managers to develop plugins for our WordPress CMS.
•     Research, analyze, implement and integrate new mechanisms and technologies within an interactive online environment.

Requirements
•     Proven experience in developing high availability, high volume web based applications using PHP, MySQL and WordPress.
•     Experience developing, debugging, and performance tuning WordPress plug-ins and themes.
•     Experience with HTML, JavaScript, and CSS.
•     Experience with the APIs from social networks like Facebook and Twitter.
•     Experience with database design and optimizations.
•     Familiarity with configuring and deploying WordPress a plus.
•     Strong written and verbal communication skills
•     Excels at working in a highly collaborative environment
