Senior PHP Developer/Platform Engineer
We are seeking a Senior PHP Developer for a popular on-line travel company located in Palo Alto, CA.   Work in a fun, fast paced environment delivering high performing scalable solutions, innovative consumer facing web products including social media & mobile web apps , SEO/SEM and electronic advertising.   The ideal candidate will have worked in PHP, Javascript, Java, Python & C/C++ who is team oriented and likes working in team oriented, collaborative and fun environment.
Requirements:
*         Passion for solving complex problems, as well as an ability to work on a variety of engineering challenges
*         7+ years of software development experience
*         Fluent in numerous languages (the ideal candidate will have worked in PHP, Javascript, Java, Python & C/C++)
*         Strong experience using web application frameworks (such as Zend, ROR, Django, etc...)
*         Experience developing standards compliant front-ends with HTML, CSS and Javascript
*         Experienced in developing scalable code for high-volume systems
*         Able to design, write and document clean APIs
*         Expert in Object-Oriented design and complex architectures
*         Comfortable with UNIX environment
*         Expert in database setup, configuration and optimization
*         Ability to communicate complex technical ideas effectively in a team environment.
*         Must be able to document code faithfully and take good coding practices seriously
*         Experience with mapping APIs, GIS, or Cartography is a plus
*         Solid understanding of HTTP, TCP, and UDP networking protocols is a plus
BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
