					CollegeHumor is seeking a Senior LAMP Application Developer. You
 will work with our small talented team of developers on a number of 
large high profile websites which include: CollegeHumor, TodaysBIGthing,
 SportsPickle, Dorkly as well as contribute to a number of internal 
tools and services. Collectively our sites reach over 12 million users 
every month.
  
 OVERVIEW OF ROLE

 This 
role is for a senior back-end PHP developer who will primarily be 
working on a shared framework that supports all of our web properties. 
This role will share ownership for our core framework as well as a 
variety of site-level features. The role will be heavily involved in 
shaping the technical roadmap for our core back-end technology, ensuring
 that we can scale to meet our aggressively growing business.
  
 
The candidate must have at least 5 years of experience developing on a 
PHP-based MVC Framework and demonstrate an excellent understanding of 
object-oriented programming. A degree in Computer Science is strongly 
preferred.
  
 The candidate must be a conscientious developer who
 can build new features, iterate on existing features, write test 
scripts, unit test their code, and take part in code reviews with other 
developers.
  
 The candidate must be able to profile and optimize code and queries for performance.
  
 The candidate must enjoy working in a fast paced environment with small agile development teams.
  
 REQUIREMENTS 
 Advanced back-end development experience in PHP 5, and a strong 
understanding of Object Oriented Programming within an MVC framework. Experience with SPL Experience configuring and optimizing Memcached on a high volume website. Experience using and tuning Apache and MySQL. Thorough understanding of general principles of caching and scaling websites. Basic understanding of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Experience working on a Media website is a plus. A preoccupation with staying on top of industry trends and technologies
