Our direct client in NYC (midtown) has the following contract/contract 
to hire opportunity. 

Please note the hours for this position are Wed-Sat 7pm-5am.

PHP Developer

Our client is looking for a passionate developer with great 
communication skills to join a talented team of developers and support 
technicians. The ideal candidate will be flexible with respect to 
scheduling and adept at dealing with people of all technical abilities 
and levels of knowledge.

This role will be responsible for supporting a 24/7 staff as well as 
developing the CMS they use. Duties will include light coaching of the 
staff on features for which they lack training, dealing with issues 
passed over from QA to classify the issue (bug, user error, etc.), 
working with QA directly to isolate the source of bugs and other issues, 
creation of external-to-CMS tools for use by staff, bug fixes in the CMS 
itself, new feature development for the CMS and external tools, 
interfacing with both iOS and PHP developers alongside the non-technical 
team.

Application Support:

* Responsible for learning CMS inside and out.
* Be able to troubleshoot issues sent over from QA, determine whether 
issue is lack of training, bug in CMS, or a bug in application.
* Be able to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical 
staff who are often under pressure and tight deadlines.
* Train staff in CMS use as needed.

Development:

* CMS development.
* Web development.
* Facebook app development.
* Must be familiar with MVC concepts.
* Experience with Drupal or Wordpress big plus.
* Languages required: PHP (v5), JavaScript (jQuery library experience a 
big plus), SQL, (X)HTML, CSS.
* Object-Oriented Programming experience a requirement.
* Version control experience desired (Subversion or Git).
* Familiarity and comfort with UNIX (Linux/OSX) system administration 
and command-line interface is a plus.
* Attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure.
