Please, do a bit of research before slinging mud:

The core team hasn't been paid in almost a year now. They are all volunteers.

At WordPress, they are almost all paid and paid one by one person. They run an Apple model, where according to a WP core developer I talked to last month, they have three dictators to make all final decisions. The good thing about that for community members is that they largely don't have to worry about the core code at all. 

Joomla (and increasingly Drupal) run more of the Android model where things are more fragmented and if you do want to see improvements, you have to get involved and push. There's no free ride from a big company that makes all the decisions for us.
