I’m pleased to inform you that the Joomla! Project today announced the
immediate release of Joomla 1.7.0.

This release follows the new six-month release cycle that started with
the release of 1.6 in January 2011.

The Joomla Communications Team have worked along with the Production
Leadership Team, and the Bug Squad, to provide you (and your group
members) with everything you need to know about this release:

Please note that 1.7.0 is also a Security update to 1.6.x and all
users are advised to upgrade immediately. Full release notes are
