Entire GUIs can be written in JavaScript. If you can control the
environment (for example, it's corporate intranet), compatibility is
not an issue. I'm one of developers of SiteSupra (www.sitesupra.com),
and we've built complete application in JavaScript, with server
connections and other advanced stuff.
