Here's a weird one:

I'm using $HTTP_SESSION_VARS to store all the session stuff I need,
and it works just fine until I call a function.  Within just about any
function I call, the values stored in that array seem to disappear.  I
know this is some vague information, and I'll provide more code if
needed, but does this trigger any gotchas for anyone?
