I believe the "LAMP" acronym originated in Europe.. Germany?   In doing 
some research for a "LAMP" certification, for a course series that I was 
teaching, at least  that's what I found.

Of course, 50 years from now the historical revisionists will say "Oh, 
that really originated in ...[insert newsworthy-place-here]  :)
