So, I just typed in phpmagazine.com (I just guessed that would be the
domain), and didn't end up where I thought I should. (Take my advice, folks,
it was bad news!)

Maybe that's the reason for the high-priced issues - they need to buy the
domain from these scumbags!

I have three issues I'll be giving away as samples at tonight's meeting
(cover story: PHP 5's New OO MOdel).  I've read through the magazine and
it's very complete and detailed.  Both are great, but I might say that PHP
Magazine is a bit more technical.
