Setting the register_globals = On did not help with this situation or the
other one but your idea of using:

$_SERVER["REMOTE_ADDR"];

Worked like a charm.

 

I am still unable to properly use this tool:

and it was working before the upgrade.

 

Any other suggestions that might help?
