Fair enough - I have heard mixed things.  I do have a couple of clients
on their shared VPSs though, and have had good luck.

Please note, I don't work for them...

And that said, support your local hoster, which is why I say NYCBUG is a
good resource.  There are many skilled VPS hosters around.
