I don't understand why this happens ...

Fatal error: Call to undefined function phpinfo() in
/home/php/php-5.1.6/sapi/cli/test.php on line 4

 

System type: SuSE linux 7.0

All versions of 4 compile fine so does 5.0.5 comes out fine...but...

All versions higher produce a library/binary with missing functions,
functions like phpinfo, print_r, date, even var_dump

 

I used the "nm" tool to see if the symbol(s) are present.

For phpinfo, it finds ...

08392de0 B phpinfo_logo_hash

081ab9f0 T register_phpinfo_constants

081abb70 T zif_phpinfo

Which is the same data dumped from a "healthy" version of PHP binary.
