How do I safely escape a search phrase string for a full-text IN BOOLEAN
MODE search?
 
Exampe:
 
SELECT * FROM table WHERE MATCH (field)
    -> AGAINST ('"the phrase"' IN BOOLEAN MODE);
 
If I use mysqli_real_escape_string, "the phrase" would become /"the
phrase/"
 
Ideas?
