thats why every time I mention dreamhost I mention http://www.dreamhoststatus.com 
  ;) As for PHP related things I haven't had problems yet (been 2-3  
years now). Though it seems I'm a lucky one in that regard? Joomla and  
wordpress have been running on a few domains I host with no issues,  
also phpBB and gallery. I'm looking forward to seeing some other  
viable alternatives in this thread as well... always good to have some  
references for hosts...
