Or even 999 times out of 1000. Opera lets you turn it off, I believe, but
all other modern (since 2001?) browsers send it.

You still need to account for the case where someone has no HTTP_REFERER
upon first hitting your site--maybe they typed the address into the browser
bar, it happens! ;-)
