You can try several things.  
1. grep for php.ini
2. cp another php.ini to the /usr/local/lib (if you have write access) -
something people forget for copy the file there during installation (manual)
3. get into single mode if you have full possession on the box - this will
give you root access

Hey folks,

Trying to find the php.ini file on my system.

I am running Mac OS X and PHP 4.2.1

Someone else installed and set up PHP on this machine, but I do have
admin access.

The PHP info function shows me that it is located in /usr/local/lib but
when I open a terminal and go to that directory the file is not there.

Anyone else using Mac OSX who could help me?
