Google is your friend, just add 'site:lists.nyphp.org' to the search 
string and it will search the archives for you.

For example:

<http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=search+archives+site%3Alists.nyphp.org&btnG=Google+Search>

The only problem is that they won't be very up to date...though the more 
people using it the faster it will update.
