PHP QA TestFest - XML and DOM Focus

PHP Test Writing and Unit Testing at NY PHP

May 23rd, 2009

New York PHP is pleased to host the tri-state area's PHP TestFest. This is a great opportunity to help the PHP project while learning from your peers and working alongside other developers.

Anyone interested should join the low-traffic NY PHP Org mailing list to keep updated on the event and participate in post and pre-event discussion.

The event will kickoff at 11am on May 23rd with documentation and QA team member Daniel Convissor running a quick presentation on how to write tests. We'll then move onto mentoring and writing the tests themselves.

WHY and GOALS
  • The goal of the TestFest is to develop PHP Tests and submit them to the project for evaluation and commits.
  • To improve the code coverage of the test suite for the PHP language.
  • Meet, learn, and network with other area developers.
  • Contribute and help the PHP language.
  • We will be focusing on the XMLReader/XMLWriter extensions (see also below).

WHO
  • Anyone interested in helping the PHP project.
  • Senior developers or new developers are both welcome.
  • New developers will be paired with the more experienced.
