Vice President -IT Audit  for  Sales and Trading in New York City

 

Reporting to the Global Head of Technology Audit ...

The position requires a person who can bring a good strategic vision,
the expected strong analytical, organizational, and communication
skills, and someone who is capable of leading and influencing others.

Ideally you can demonstrate your ability to partner with the business
and technology areas to help them identify and mitigate risks in the
Equities and FICC (Fixed Income,

Currency and Commodities) businesses.

  

 The candidate should demonstrate a solid understanding of what
constitutes a good control environment for those businesses. One  should
be able to demonstrate a strong background in technologies prevalent in
these areas, as well as clear understanding of Industry-wide technology
strategies, initiatives, and applicable processes and their associated
risks.

 

 

Technology Auditors focus  on reducing technology-driven business risks
accomplished by:

.Reviewing existing IT applications and IT infrastructure and making
recommendations to improve controls; 

.Reviewing the implementation of new IT applications and infrastructure;

.Assisting in firm's technology control self-assessments and in projects
that help reduce risk; 

.Assisting Management in incident analysis and follow-up; and 

.Lending expert opinion to some firm-wide compliance and control
activities.

 

With auditors in  New York, London, Hong Kong and Tokyo, the IT audit
staff includes professionals with backgrounds in finance, auditing,
mathematics, computer science, database administration, and applications
development.

 

This is a highly visible role requiring an energetic individual to
co-manage a global team and the IT audit plan for the Sales and Trading
audit division  The range of businesses being supported by this team
include Equities, Fixed Income, Currency and Commodities (FICC),
covering a range of functions from Sales and Trading through
Settlement., Payments, Asset Servicing, Trade and Transaction Reporting
and Global Control.

 

Specifically, this person will:

*Liaise with business and technology groups to proactively identify
potential areas of control weaknesses and perform periodic trend
analysis in order to identify additional

 areas to focus  reviews

*Develop and execute the global IT audit plan

*Hire, train and mentor the group's staff (currently 8 people)

*Manage IT related Open Audit Issues and ensure they are being addressed
in a timely manner

*Identify and present topics and areas of current risk to different
senior-level committees at the firm

*Coordinate with other regional Group Managers to set and review quality
standards within the team and ensure global consistency around IT audit
approaches and focus

*Manage and lead change initiatives within IT Audit

 

 

The preferred profile  candidates will have 10+ years of business
experience in financial services. The candidates' professional
experience may have included past responsibility for project management,
product development, audit and implementation of strategic business
plans. This person will have successfully worked with complex financial
products/functions with experience including data analysis, information
technology, business operating processes, and compliance. Experience in
the Equities business / technology area is a plus.
