Ref: Error Msg 404

I just went through a similar-sounding situation. After I installed Joomla
(in my case at Godaddy.com) I was getting Error Msg 404 also.

It had to do with permissions that had not been done during the installation
procedure. Godaddy people had to set access/read/write permissions properly
by hand at their end. When they did all the Error Msgs disappeared.

 Hope this helps.
