What about tar and then transferring it to another system? You can 
mysqldump into that and you shoudl have a whole site. What am I 
missing? I use apollohosting and have had only limited issues. Is the 
issue incremental or hourly backups? Let's be honest if you do not own 
the server you really are not going to get real backup, ie. hourly or 
better. If I am wrong I would love to give that ISP my business.
