[nycphp-talk] Suggest "replacement" for Gallery ?

IF one wanted to put up images with F/OS LAMP solution (like Gallery),
and Gallery was not an acceptable option, what would you suggest be
investigated today?
It doesn't have to be as complex as Gallery... perhaps a thumbnail
scroller with CSS stylin' and a database backend for a single "album" or
somesuch....
All suggestions welcome, but of course those based on actual experience +1.
