Howdy:

As others have mentioned, small claims court, as long as your claim is 
small enough, is piece of cake.  Otherwise, you'll need a real lawyer.  
Enforcement of unpaid judgements is done via marshalls and/or sherrifs 
depending on the jurisdiction.  If you're in the NY area, I can recommend 
a good attorney.
